Build-a-bear Workshop (2)

The next step is giving the bear a bath, which take place on a table equipped with fan and brush. You can brush the bear's hair and blow it. And then you can choose it's clothes, which is the most interesting step. There is a little table with lots of mirror, and you can change the bear's clothes on that table. After changing three dresses, I decided to buy my bear a pink dresses with a pair of

Build-a-bear Workshop (1)

I got an unique teddy bear from Build-a-bear Workshop today!!!
I saw an article on the newspaper reporting about Build-a-bear Workshop several years ago, and I found it really interesting. Everytime I walked by the store, I would admire the cute bears and those pretty accessories. However, I never bought one.
Well, I got one as my birthday present tonight! I went to the store and started my amazing journey of making my own teddy bear.
There are many kinds of teddy bears, dogs, rabbits, hippoes, and even dinasours in the shop. The first step is choose a bear you like, and you can touch or hug the bear to choose your favorite one. Then, you can record what you would like to say in a machine, and whenever you press the teddy bear in the future, the bear will say those words. After you record the words, you have to stuff the bear with cottons, and all what I mentioned above are DIY!!! Before you sew the bear's bear closely, there is a very important step that cannot be forgot. You have to pick a red heart and twist the heart to make it hot, simbolizing giveing the bear temperature, and then you should flop the heart, which simbolize giving it heartbeat. After bringing the heart to life, you can stuff it into the bear's body and sew it up.

My dreaming career

When I was a child, many people asked me what I would like to do in the future, and I always answered that I wanted to be a teacher. However, when they continued to ask me the reason of becoming a teacher, I just couldn't give them an answer. Maybe it was just because that I didn't have enough knowledge about all kind of careers, but as a child, teacher is definitely not a unfamilair career.
When I was in my room, I would imagine that there were students, and I was standing on the stage. I even made a text book myself and a notebook to give students grades! I taught Chinese and English on my imagine classroom, and my major was English. The teacher-and-student game satisfied my teaching desire, and I really hoped that one day the game may come true.
In the junior high school, we had a dog. Because of my love to my cute dog, who is named blackbaby, my dream switched from an English teacher to a vet. I thought that working in an environment full of dogs and cats would be excellent, and what's more, I can save lots of pet's lives or reduce their pain. However, one day I accidentally read an article on the newspapaer which was written by a vet. It said that they had to kill dogs and cats in their anatomy classes because there weren't enough sources of animal's corpse. Although I really wanted to become a vet at that time, I think I couldn't endure the cruel learning process. Since then, I gave up the dream of becoming a vet, comforting myself that I can donate money for street dogs.
Then, as my parents and my wish, I became a medical student last year. I don't know whether this is really what I want or I was brainwashed by my parents and teachers, but I had walked on this road, and I am trying to find my own passion in this field now. I hope one day I can!

The Situation of Myopia In Taiwan

In recent years, more and more people in Taiwan suffer from myopia, and it’s nearly impossible to find a person who is not nearsighted. When you see a person without glasses, they often wear contact lenses most of the time. People who are not nearsighted have become really rare. Televisions, computers, stressful working environments, and lack of time for going outdoors are the four main causes for modern people to have myopia so easily.
In the past, people seldom suffer from myopia, a disease which the patients cannot see things in a long distance clearly. According to research from National Taiwan University, the older the children are, the more severely they suffer from myopia. Experts say that the population of nearsighted people is far less than that in Taiwan, and the average degree is less, too. The reasons why Taiwanese tend to have myopia more easily than foreigners are the four causes mentioned above.
Nowadays, People spend too much time watching TV or working on computers. Unlike before, people enjoy watching TV in their leisure time, making them couch-potatoes, and they don’t even care to look away from TV every an hour or so to let their eyes have some rest. Also, people are more dependent on computers while working. We use computers to calculate, catalog documents, contact with clients, and looking for information, etc, and it seems that our lives cannot do without computers now.
In today’s working environment, people are under too much pressure to take a rest when necessary. In order to catch up with deadlines and compete with co-workers, people have no choice but to sacrifice their time to take a rest, and their eyes just stick to computer screens all-day-long. According to a paper written by Chien-Jen Chen from department of public health in National Taiwan University, myopia are associated with environmental factors closely, and extreme stress may cause the myopia to become worse.
Last but not least, due to the tight schedule, overloading workload, and the exhausting bodies people have after a whole day of hard-working, people don’t have enough time to go outdoors. Or we may say, to be more precisely, people don’t have the mood and the spirits to take part in some outdoor activities. The outdoor activities can help us wash away pressure and annoying thoughts from work, and the natural colors of trees and mountains are beneficial to our eyes. Thus, besides working hard, we ought to spend more time outdoors and relax.
In conclusion, to improve the poor situation of myopia in Taiwan, we should always remember to take a rest after a while of hard-working to maintain the health of our eyes, which is nicknamed the windows of the spirits. Go outdoors more often when you have free time, and don’t say that you don’t have time. Bear in mind that nothing is more valuable than health!

Summer Vacation

Time really flies. It's already June and the summer vacation is coming soon. Originally, I planned to go abroad with one of my best friend in junior high school, but because of many reasons, the plan failed, and I am very dissapointed.
Now I have to find something else to do in my summer instead of spending my vacation in Canada. I am going to Chung- Kung medical camp in the begining of the vacation, and I'm really looking forward to it although the preparing work is tiring. In the middle of August, I have a week of training for badminton. I am planning to go to English conversation classes twice a week duing the vacation as I always did before, and going to the conversation classes have already become my interest.
Maybe I will consider to take a part-time job since I have wanted to work part-time in Starbucks long time ago. What I would like to get is not just the salary but the working experience, because if I don't go to work there when I am young, I may never have the chance to experience this kind of work and end up working in the hospital for a life time.
I want to practice the piano harder, too. In fact, I feel regret for not practicing hard on piano when I was a child, and I really want to make it up.
There are still many other things I can do duing summer vacation, and I will think about them later. I think it's also very important to spend more time with my family since I have been in school this whole year!

free writing

Last weekend was Mother’s Day, and I went back to Taichung to celebrate it with my family. We bought a cake secretly planning to give my mother a surprise, but clever as she was, she found out soon. Later that day, we went to a nice restaurant to have a dinner together. After the meal, the waiter took out the cake with shimmering candles on the top. In the dark, the whole family, the waiters of the restaurant, and even customers sitting at the nearby table clapped together. Even though my mother had already found out our plan, she was so moved that she couldn’t help crying. When I went to university, I know the importance of family. Of course, at first, I still sock in the freedom and went home seldom, but when I clam down I suddenly realize that family are the biggest supports and my closest friends. I could always share my feelings , rely on them with a hundred percent trust. I know I am a grown up now, and it’s time for me to learn to be independent, but there’s something invisible binding us closely that can not to be departed. Sometimes I will tried to wonder how it will be if I live in the world without them, and that night I will dream some nightmare. Obviously, there’s no doubt that I can not leave them. I love them so much, and cherish the memory with them.

Place I want to go --- Swiddish

The other place I want to go is Swiddsh. Because friends told me that it's really beautiful there, and they even showed me the whole set of photos they took in Swiddish.
I want to see the spectacular lights there, and the galciers.
What interests me most is the ice hotel. Every year, they build the hotel once again. In the hotel, everything is made of ice, including beds, pillows, cups, tables, chandeliers, and lamps. You may think that people must be frozen staying in the ice hotel, but as thoughtful as them, they provide hot spring service outdoor. As long as you write down your name and the room number you are staying in, you can get a huge wooden tub and clean hot towels. You can look at the spectacular lanscape while enjoying the comfortable bath.
There are still many other places I would like to visit, and I will discuss them in my next article, so just look forward to it!!!

The Forbidden Kingdom

I went to this movie last weekend after school, and I ate at Friday for supper.
(As i typed this sentence, my keyboard fell down , and it scared me extremely.)
In the beginning, I had interests in this movie only because of the cast. The Forbidden Kingdom starred Jackie Chen, Jet Lee, Yi-Fi Liu, and Bing- Bing Lee, and I really like the two actresses in the film. I didn't spend any time figuring out what the movie was talking about before I bought the tickets, and this rarely happens to me.
Fortunately, the movie didn't let me down, and I think it was really good! The story started in a Chinatown in the U.S. A gang violently rubbed money from an Chinese old man, who got shot after he hit the gangster from behind. Before he fainted away, he gave a golden stick to an American teenager and told him to return it to the true master of it. To escape from the gangster, the teenager accidentally fell down from the roof of a tall building and returned to the acient China.
He met Jackie Chen, Jet Lee, and Yi-Fi Liu on his way, and the four of them teamed up on the search of the bad king. Jackie Chen and Jet Lee taught him lots of kung-fu on the way, and he became strong. After really hard efforts, they finally arrived at the palace which the bad king lived, where they killed the king together and returned the golden stick to its true master.
The mission done, he returned to where he came from with the help of the god, and the time hasn't pass at all. The only thing which has been changed was that he already learned lots of kung-fu, so he fought away the gangster and saved the old man's live.
Although I could predict the ending since the beginning, I still considered it an excellent film!!!

Going Aboard

I went to Taipei and had dinner with an old friend who studies in National Taiwan University now. We used to be best friend in junior high school and high school, however, after we both entered college, we found that there wasn't enough time for us to keep in touch with each other as often as we thought it should be.
We decided to fo aboard this summer vacation, and this was a dream unfinished duing last summer vacation. We only went to Taipei for three days last summer, because we thought that we would not be so interested in traveling in Taipei after college, after all, both of us study in Taipei and are familiar with it now. This turned out to be the wise choise, but in that way, we lost out chances to go aboard.
Thus, we want to finish our dream this summer, and we decided to go to Australia and New Zealand in the middle of July. I am looking forward to it NOW !!!

Apologize

I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
You tell me that you need me
Then you go and cut me down,
but waitYou tell me that you're sorry
Didn't think I'd turn around and say
That it's too late to apologize,
it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize,
it's too lateToo late,
ohI'd take another chance,
take a fallTake a shot for you
And I need you like a heart
needs a beatBut it's nothing new,
yeah yeah
I loved you with a fire red,
now it's turning blue
And you say
Sorry like the angel,
heaven let me think was you
But I'm afraid
It's too late to apologize,
it's too late
I said
it's too late to apologize,
it's too late,
whoa whoa
It's too late to apologize,
it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize,
it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize,
yeah(Too late)
I said it's too late to apologize,
yeah(Too late)
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground

Another song I crazily fell in love with recently. The singer has a very beautiful voice.

Bleeding Love

Closed off from love
I didn’t need the pain
Once or twice was enough
And it was all in vain
Time starts to pass
Before you know it you’re frozen
But something happened
For the very first time with you
My heart melts into the ground
Found something true
And everyone’s looking round
Thinking I’m going crazy
But I don’t care what they say
I’m in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don’t know the truth
My heart’s crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open
and I
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open
Trying hard not to hear
But they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears
Try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that the goal
Is to keep me from falling
But nothing’s greater
Than the rush that comes with your embrace
And in this world of loneliness
I see your face
Yet everyone around me
Thinks that I’m going crazy,
maybe, maybe
But I don’t care what they say
I’m in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don’t know the truth
My heart’s crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I
And it’s draining all of me
Oh they find it hard to believe
I’ll be wearing these scars
For everyone to see
I don’t care what they say
I’m in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don’t know the truth
My heart’s crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open
and I Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love

This is a song I frequently listen to recently, because i think that Leona Lewis sings really beautifully. And the rhythem is really unique.

Sunday night

Last weekend I went back to Taichung, and I traveled with Taiwant high speed railway. The passengers were so many that I had no place to stand but to stand beside the door, and it was really uncomfortable. Fortunately, it only took thirty-five minutes to get to the station from Taichung.
After I arrived, I went to the airport to watch airplanes take off, and the planes were so close! There was a cafe called The Third Terminal, and I like this name very much. This made me think of the movie "The Terminal" starring Tom Hanks. I like Tom Hanks very much since the movie" The Da Vinci Code." Although these are two totally different movies, I still fell in love with both of them, and I can't tell which one do I love more.
For dinner, I went to Blue Coconut. It's a beautiful restaurant with a enormous garden, and the building is spectacular, too. However, the way to the restaurant was a little bit scary, because it was very dark and few cars drove by. Were it not signs were put on every lamp, I would strongly doubt that we were on the wrong way.
In conclusion, that was a fantastic Sunday night, and I am already looking forward to next Sunday night .

Happy Birthday

In my childhood, my mother pushed me to some classes that I didn't really like. For instance, piano classes, swimming classes, and English classes. However, life always changes in a strange way. What I learned in these classes have become things I like to do most now.
I remembered that I seldom practiced playing piano, because I don't like to play the same one for so many times, and that made me feel really boring. My piano class was scheduled on every Friday night, and I crazily practiced playing the piano as soon as I got home from school until the class began. This kind of practicing method usually didn't word well.
For swimming class, I didn't like to go swimming before because I considered it a tiring class, and everytime I went home from the class, I was exhausted! However, it has developed into my hobby now, and I believe that it will be a hobby of a lifetime.
I didn't like to go to English class because I think it deprived of my leisure time. But I love reading English novels and listening to English songs now. Everytime I find a new book, the first thing I will do is not to buy it home but to search on net for an English version. It's a pity that I don't read much since I started my college life, but I'm working hard to maintain this hobby!
I really appreciate my mom now, and I want to wish her "Happy Birthday." I will love you for a lifetime!!!

The Swarms

I am reading to this book "The Swarms" recently, and it is really fascinating. After I pick up the book, I can't help but keep reading it until it is too late and that I should go to bed.
It's talking about the relationship between human beings and the ocean, which I believe is referring to the environment we are living in. When humans forget to protect our environment while making profits from it, maybe it will one day fight back.
All the living species in the ocean group up to fight against humans, and the most terrifying thing is that the ocean is still so mysterious and filled with unknowns despite our highly-developed technology, unlike on lands. When people no longer dare to sail on the sea, when people no longer to swimming, when people forget how to befriend to ocean or even to the mother nature, what will happen?
I think that it's not only a normal fiction, we should think more after reading the book. Does money worth breaking our relationship with our earth? I don't think so!

A Comparison of Two Ads

The left one is an ad of Chanel, and the right one is an ad of Armani. The two ads about these famous brand clothes are both very attractive to consumers, and there are several skills that make people fall in love with them.
Both ads give consumers an impression that they are fashionable and have great taste. For example, The main color of Chanel’s ad is gold, the most fashionable color nowadays. It’s black background also makes consumers think that this brand is very up-to-date. Black and gold are so match that the general appearance of the picture is not only harmonious but also really trendy. Same as Chanel’s ad, Armani’s also chooses black as its background, and the effect is as fabulous as Chanel’s. The model wears a formal dress of the contracting color white, which is perfectly set off by the black background.
Both ads use sexy stimuli to attract consumers’ attention. The gold dress in Chanel’s ad is half transparent, making the body shape of the model to be seen clearly , and gold is a sexy color itself. Also, the model’s hair is flying in the air, making her even more charming. For the Armani’s part, the breast line of the white dress is really low, and the model shows a sexy pose.
Despite so much in the same way, the style and what impression both ads want to give to consumers are quite different. The style of Chanel is bold, and they tend to use really bright colors that catch people eyes immediately. The whole ad is more vigorous and luxurious than Armani’s. In the contrast, Armani seem to want consumers to refer to them as a brand of great taste more than just fashionable. The whole ad give people an atmosphere of mystery.
The sexy and fashionable stimuli attract consumers’ attention, but what’s more important is that both of them have their own style.

Friendship

I was just sharing my opinion about friendship with my friend, whom I have mentioned before. I've been thinking about the different definition of friendship by Chinese and foreigners.
Chinese people are not as “open” as many foreigners, they don’t hug each other unless they share really close relationships. In many situations, they tend not to express their thoughts directly, and this will sometimes result in serious misunderstandings. Friends are closely related to the family circle in the Chinese society. For example, much like the French, the Chinese address their friends’ parents as “uncle” or “aunt.” Regarding the degree of intimacy, Chinese people rarely disclose themselves to newly-known friends. They believe that one shouldn’t tell others things that are too personal.
Making friends is important. However, it may be difficult if we don’t understand how the others think. For example, we have to adopt different tacks while dealing with people from different cultures, and the more we know about how the others think, the more likely we are going to succeed in befriending with them.
I always regard friendship as a crucial part of my life. Next to being with my family, I spend time with friends the most, and I tend to share stories in daily life with them. When I’m happy, I laugh with them; when I’m down, I tell them my worries. They always accompanied me through every turning of life, and I’m really glad that they will stand by me in my journey of life. With them accompanying me, I won’t be fear because I know that I’m not alone; I won’t give up because I know that there will always be someone whom I love supporting me.
Although there may be thousands types of friendships, the basic meaning of “friend” this word is all the same throughout the world. That is someone you can trust with all your heart and who will always be by your side. Thus, cherish every friendship which you think it worth.

Places I want to go --- Canada

Canada has always been the country that I longed to visit because of the spectacular views there. When I browse the websites of travel agencies, Canada’s are always the ones that attract my eyes the most.
Canada always gives me a clean and beautiful image, and there are a lot of national parks with breathtaking landscape. I don’t really like to take trips which is made up of beautiful views, and I think that was because I was too young to understand the tranquility and serenity of those beautiful views. Instead of going to places like Disneyland, I prefer to go to places like Canada now.
There are lots of castles in Canada, and they are all very luxurious. However, many of them transferred into five-star- hotel now. When you stay at those castle hotels, you will imagine becoming princes or princesses with servers surrounding. Needless to say, the food in the castles are delicious.
If you go there during winters, then skiing might be the most interesting and thrilling outdoors activities. I always want to experience the feeling of skiing. Aside from skiing, you can take a ride on horses or simply take a walk outside.
I will visit Canada in the future, I promise!

Palace On the Sea --- Cruise Trip

I have traveled abroad to many different countries since childhood but never been to a trip on cruise. In recent years, cruise trips have become more and more popular, and travel agencies offer various cruise packages for customers to choose from. We can choose one catering both our budgets and needs with a good price. However, it will not be cheap to go on a satisfying cruise trip.
My parents don’t allow me to go on a cruise trip not because of the price but the security problem; they insist that I cannot go however cheap the price is. To satisfy my eager for a luxurious cruise trip, I cannot help but browse on the net for information about cruise trips offered by several travel agencies, and my favorite cruise lines are those passing through beautiful glaciers.
The life on the cruise is just like another world! It’s like you are the king of that mini kingdom and you are the king of the world, and everyone on the cruise is kind to you and willing to serve you. Maybe this is the reason why many people are dreaming for a great cruise trip.
I think that life on the cruise is wonderful, and I even depict an ideal schedule for myself: After I wake up, I will admire the beautiful view outside the window of my room, and I can have a good mood from the beginning of the day. I will have breakfast in different restaurants everyday, and that way, I can eat various exotic gourmets. After the delicious meal, I can go exercising in the fitness center or the swimming pool and enjoy a sunbath. Then it’s lunch time again, and after lunch, I can read some books or have a cup of coffee on the deck. After dinner, I will go to the bar to relax!
Apart from other packages, which are all tiring and busy, I like this type of traveling more, especially the relaxing atmosphere on the cruise. However, if I want to really go on a luxurious cruise trip, the first thing I have to do is to earn enough money!

A letter to a friend in distance

This is a letter I wrote in August, when I just graduated from senior high and am looking forward to exciting college life. I post on here simply because I want to share my feeling with you, knowing that you may had the same feeling as I did, and hoping that you can understand.

Finally got the letter from my future university, and i'm really excited. I'm looking forward to life there even more, seeing all those interesting things listed. It means not only freedom, but also the responsibility i'll be taking on for my own life. am sure that it will be really fun to live in a whole new way. Hope that i'm able to handle it well, and that i won't get lost in the upcoming college life.
By the way, am just more and more interested in becoming a doctor. perhaps because that i read a lot of medicine-related books recently. Alhough it sounds like being under much pressure, that just makes it more challenging for me. Anyway, I'll have the driving test tomorrow.
Perhaps it's better for me to rush to my room and start studying NOW!! Still, i decide to go out instead of preparing tomorrow's test.
Am really glad that we have remained as good friends since then. Even though we are an ocean apart!

He lives in San Diego now and studies in Urwine University. The picture is from him.

Self- Introduction

I come from Taichung, and there are four people in my family, my father, my mother, and my younger sister. There is a dof in my Taichung's house, and I treat him as a member of my family, so I think it's alright to say that there are five people in my family.
About my character, many friends think that I am a optimistic person, and I believe so, too. I like to smile to people because I think that a simple smiling face can make our lives better and happier.
My favorite subject has always been English. In my leisure time, I love to read English novels, especially romantic comedies. At first, I didn't read fast and had to look up unknown words in the dictionaries, but after two or three books, I fell in love with reading.
Apart from reading, I also have a carze for movies. Needless to say, romantic comedies are my favorite ones. The reason is that I think the purpose of going to movies is to make myself happy, so I should choose the movie which will make me laugh out loud. I enjoy shopping and eating very much, and I can't resist to desserts. My favorite snacks are chocolate and ice-cream.
I am a girl who is deeply in love with exercises. I was in the swimming school team before. Although I disliked going to swimming classes in my childhood, I am glad that I had sticked with it now, because it has become a necessary part of my life. Beside swimming, I am good at jogging and badminton, too.
Last but not least, I am the kind of person who likes to befriend with everyone, and I avoid conflicts as possible as I can. Sometimes I don't know whether it's an advantage or dissadvantage. That's me!
